Black Box Presents - Avenue D Boys' Choir Fundraising Red Carpet Gala

The Avenue D Boy’s Choir
is on a mission to make a positive impact on its singers and to reshape the image of Avenue D, one of the most infamous neighborhoods in the Treasure Coast. The group has performed across the state as well as in Europe, and last year expanded to a girl’s section. After six years, the choir finally has a dedicated “home” for rehearsals right down the street from us.

But the home needs some work done before the choir can put it to use, and that’s where this Saturday’s Fundraising Red Carpet Gala at the Black Box comes in. For a $100 donation you can hear both choirs and the co-ed group Praise~n~Motion perform, participate in live and silent auctions, and make a difference in the community. There is also a raffle for a private performance at $5 a ticket or $20 for five.

The gala starts at 5:30 p.m., with the performances at 7:00 p.m. For more information, contact the choir at either (772) 359-2337 or (772) 489-7870 or avenuedboyschoir@yahoo.com

Black Box Presents - Dak Rakow

Groucho’s Comedy at the Black Box is dedicated to bringing the funniest acts to the Fort Pierce Marina every second and fourth Saturday of the month. While there may never be another Groucho Marx, these seasoned and up-and-coming comedians always bring their best to the stage.

This week’s featured act is Dak Rakow, whose humor explores the odd occurrences in everyday life. A Florida native, Rakow is a straightforward comedian who cares less about being known for a certain type of comedy and more about entertaining his audience. Click here for a clip of Rakow’s act, and click here for more information and tickets.
