The Avenue D Boy’s Choir is on a mission to make a positive impact on its singers and to reshape the image of Avenue D, one of the most infamous neighborhoods in the Treasure Coast. The group has performed across the state as well as in Europe, and last year expanded to a girl’s section. After six years, the choir finally has a dedicated “home” for rehearsals right down the street from us.
But the home needs some work done before the choir can put it to use, and that’s where this Saturday’s Fundraising Red Carpet Gala at the Black Box comes in. For a $100 donation you can hear both choirs and the co-ed group Praise~n~Motion perform, participate in live and silent auctions, and make a difference in the community. There is also a raffle for a private performance at $5 a ticket or $20 for five.
