Black Box Presents - RC Smith

The opening monologue of a talk show serves two purposes. Besides being funny and insightful, it also warms up the audience for the segments ahead – it’s easier to make people laugh when they’re already in a good mood. It’s also common to have an comedian who's rarely seen on camera loosen up the studio audience first. That way, the star gets an extra burst of applause when he or she comes on stage.

What does this have to do with RC Smith? Smith makes his living as a warm-up comedian, and has performed before tapings of The Tony Danza Show, Who Wants to be a Millionaire and The Colbert Report. Currently he performs for The Rachel Ray Show, and takes time between tapings to tour. But this Saturday he’ll be the main attraction when he comes to the Black Box theatre.

The show starts at 8:30 p.m. For tickets and information of upcoming comedians click here.
